The Sound of Faith

James 1:2-4; Psalm 30:5
James invites us to find joy not despite our trials, but within them. This seems counterintuitive until we understand that joy differs fundamentally from happiness. Happiness depends on circumstances; joy depends on God's character. When Ruth stood among the ruins of everything she knew, she chose faith over comfort. Her story teaches us that joy is an act of defiance—a decision to trust God's redemption even when we cannot see it. Today, whatever brokenness you face, remember that weeping may last for the night, but joy comes in the morning. Your circumstances are not the final word; God's faithfulness is.
